I have taken on a new book series, Harry Potter. I have seen and loved all of the 6 movies out so far. But for years now, my sister has tried to make me read the books. Amazingly enough, I have gone this long without actually knowing what happens at the end of the series! But of course, after the midnight release of Half Blood Prince, people twittered about the ending of the movie, ruining it for those who had yet to see or read it! Foiled by social networking!
So, I went to the library to check out all the books, and as suspected, all of them were checked out, EXCEPT the very last one, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Because I have seen all the movie, I’m being a cheater and skipping to the last book, although I fully intend on going back and reading them all, I promise!
Recently, hulu.com posted a documentary on the Harry Potter pop culture phenomenon called, “We Are Wizards”. I was interested but haven’t watched the entire movie just yet in case it spoils anything. But the beginning starts off with a woman talking about the negative effects of the book on children, how it introduces them to “dark things”. Well Crazy Lady, all I have to say is…
