I am obsessed with Free People clothing, but on my unemployment budget I cannot afford it. So instead of pining away for these items I tried to find similar pieces from another store at a more reasonable prices. I took inspiration from the Free People trends (ruffles, fringe and zippers) and recreated the looks for waaay less. I paired these items with a pair of scrunchy brown boots from Target for $34.99 and textured Betsey Johnson tights from Marshall’s for $5.99. The price difference is staggering!

Free People Ruffle Dress -$68 Forever 21 Ruffle Dress – $13.80

Free People Zipper Dress – $128 Forever 21 Zipper Dress – $19.80

Free People Fringe Dress – $138 Forever 21 Fringe Tunic – $15.80
People say you get what you pay for, but some trends don’t carry. I wouldn’t want to spend almost $140 for a fringe dress that next season could be totally out – what a waste! But I wouldn’t feel bad about stuffing the $16 tunic in the back of my closet.
