I really don’t think I should be sharing this story, but it has really caused quite the stir so I must tell it.
My fish, Fabulous George, passed away earlier this week. So, I had a dead fish on my hands. I was home all alone, and really didn’t want to dispose of him, not for emotional reasons but because I was grossed out and scared of him. I stood there, staring at the bowl trying to think of the best solution. Apparently my decision turned out to be very strange to be people. I decided to just put the whole bowl outside to freeze and then when it was frozen I would place it in several plastic bags and put it in the garbage can.
How did I come to this solution you ask?
1. Flushing him was out of the question. That would require me to scoop up the dead fish and flush him down my toilet which could get clogged. No.
2. I could fling him off my back porch. Well, we have a lot of outside cats around and I didn’t want them to eat a dead fish and get sick and then die themselves, I could not have that on my conscious.
3. My old fish was frozen and we threw him in the dumpster.
He died at my friend’s house who was taking care of him while I was on spring break. He thought I would want to say goodbye, so he put the tank in the freezer and FROZE him amongst his chicken, veggies and popsicles. At least mine would be outside!
My sister thinks that this was one of the most bizarre things she’s ever heard, I guess it is, but as you can see I had no other choice.
